   Sift flour, sugar, salt and baking powder together in bowl. Add shortening and milk, unbeaten egg and flavoring all at once. Beat all ingredients together well with a rotary beater for 2 minutes.

   Pour in a greased pan and bake at 350u00b0 for 25 to 35 minutes.
