Preheat oven to 400u00b0F. Cook the beans in boiling salted water for 10 mins, then drain. Melt 1 1/2 tbsp butter in a pot, add the onion and saute until soft. Add the rice and saute briefly. Pour in the stock, bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 30-35 mins. After 20 mins, add the carrots and leeks. Mix 3/4 of the parsley with the rice, and season.

Meanwhile, heat 1 1/2 tbsp butter in a pan and cook the sausage over medium heat.

To assemble the casserole, put half of the vegetable rice in a greased baking dish. Arrange the sausage slices on top and cover with remainder of the vegetable rice. Sprinkle with cheese and bake for 20-25 mins. To serve, sprinkle with the rest of the parsley and garnish with basil.
