Ingredients: Beef Stew Meat In 1/2 Inch Cubes; 1 Tablespoon Oil; 3 Tablespoons All-purpose Flour; Salt And Pepper, to taste; Cayenne, To Taste; 1 Tablespoon Butter; 1 whole Medium Onion, Chopped; 3 whole Medium Carrots, Coarsely Chopped; 1 whole Parsnip; 1/2 whole Large Rutabaga Or Turnip, Peeled And Cubed Small; 1 pint Beef Stock; 1 pint Guinness Beer; 3 sprigs Fresh Thyme; Handful Of Barley

Beef Stew Meat In 1/2 Inch Cubes
1 Tablespoon Oil
3 Tablespoons All-purpose Flour
Salt And Pepper, to taste
Cayenne, To Taste
1 Tablespoon Butter
1 whole Medium Onion, Chopped
3 whole Medium Carrots, Coarsely Chopped
1 whole Parsnip
1/2 whole Large Rutabaga Or Turnip, Peeled And Cubed Small
1 pint Beef Stock
1 pint Guinness Beer
3 sprigs Fresh Thyme
Handful Of Barley

Place beef in bowl and toss with oil.

Combine Flour, Salt, Pepper and few dashes (to taste) Cayenne powder.

Dip the beef in seasoned flour.

Brown in a large pot with about 1 tbsp of real butter no fake stuff!

Remove and set aside.

Add chopped onions and saute for 2-3 minutes.

Add in all other veggies and saute another 2-3 minutes.

Add beef back to pot.

Add in beef stock and Guinness.

Add handful of barley and sprigs of thyme.

Bring to the boil, turn heat down to low and simmer for 1 and 1/2 hours.

Season to taste with some salt and a little black pepper.

Remove thyme sprigs (the leaves will have fallen off and will stay in the stew, this is perfect).

Serve with good old fashioned mashed potatoes.
