Ingredients: 2 Tbsp. butter; 1 c. hot water; 1 tsp. vanilla, rum or maple flavoring; 2 Tbsp. flour; 2 Tbsp. sugar; 1 1/2 c. water; 1/2 oz. finely ground sage; 1 tsp. thyme; 1 tsp. black pepper; 5 lb. hamburger; 4 garlic cloves, put through press or 1 oz. bottled garlic juice; 8 bay leaves; 1 tsp. marjoram; 1 tsp. savory; 1 tsp. ground nutmeg; 1/2 tsp. ground cloves; salt to taste; 4 Tbsp. paprika; 3 Tbsp. chili powder

2 Tbsp. butter
1 c. hot water
1 tsp. vanilla, rum or maple flavoring
2 Tbsp. flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 oz. finely ground sage
1 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. black pepper
5 lb. hamburger
4 garlic cloves, put through press or 1 oz. bottled garlic juice
8 bay leaves
1 tsp. marjoram
1 tsp. savory
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
salt to taste
4 Tbsp. paprika
3 Tbsp. chili powder

Combine water, bay leaves, sage, marjoram, savory, thyme, nutmeg, pepper, cloves and salt.

Bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer while processing hamburger, adding more water until brown and in granular form.

After hamburg is browned, add contents of saucepan and simmer 30 minutes.

Add paprika, chili powder and garlic.

Simmer 30 minutes longer, stirring often.

Freeze in small portions if desired.
