Ingredients: 2 c. raisins; 1 c. shortening; 2 c. sugar; 3 eggs; 1 tsp. vanilla; 4 c. flour; 1 tsp. baking powder; 1 tsp. soda; 1 tsp. cinnamon; 1/2 tsp. salt

Put raisins into saucepan and cover with 2 or 3 cups of water. Cook 5 to 10 minutes.

Cream together shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla.

Sift together 4 cups flour, baking powder, soda, cinnamon and salt.

In a separate bowl, mix shortening, sugar, egg and vanilla mixture with drained raisins.

Add 1 cup water raisins were cooked in to mixture alternately with flour mixture, stirring by hand.

Drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet.
