   Combine dates, water and sugar; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.

   Remove from heat.

   Stir in nuts; set aside.

   Slice cookie dough into 1/4-inch thick slices (36 slices).

   Place 27 slices on cookie sheet.

   Place 1 teaspoon date mixture on each slice of cookie.
