-
2
Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl; set aside.
-
3
Melt coarsely chopped chocolate with the butter.
-
4
My gurl Martha does this with a double broiler, but despite her objections I use a pan on the lowest heat and this has worked just fine for my many chocolatey recipes.
-
5
Transfer chocolate mixture to the bowl of an electric mixer.
-
6
Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla; mix on medium speed until combined.
-
7
Reduce speed to low; gradually mix in flour mixture.
-
8
Fold in chocolate chunks.
-
9
Scoop batter using a 1 1/2-inch ice cream scoop, or a spoon; place 2 inches apart on parchment-lined baking sheets.
-
10
Bake until cookies are flat and surfaces begin to crack, about 15 minutes.
-
11
Transfer on parchment to wire racks.
-
12
Let cool 5 minutes.
