Ingredients: 2 lb. stewing steak; mutton, cut into 2-inch cubes; 2 lg. onions, finely sliced; 1 red pepper, chopped; 2 green peppers, chopped; 2 chilies, chopped *; 1 lg. potato, peeled and grated; 1 can tomatoes; 2 tbsp. Hungarian paprika; Salt; Lard; cooking oil

Servings: persons

2 lb. stewing steak
mutton, cut into 2-inch cubes
2 lg. onions, finely sliced
1 red pepper, chopped
2 green peppers, chopped
2 chilies, chopped *
1 lg. potato, peeled and grated
1 can tomatoes
2 tbsp. Hungarian paprika
Salt
Lard
cooking oil

Heat oil in saucepan and fry onions till soft.

Add meat, peppers, chillies, salt and paprika.

Fry until meat has browned.

Grate the potato into frying mixture(this will make a nice, thick sauce).

Add tomatoes and enough water to stew meat.

Cover pan and simmer until meat is tender, adding water if it starts to go dry.

Serve on a bed of rice or gnocchi (galuska) and put a spoonful of soured cream or yoghurt on top.
