1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 c. rolled oats (quick cooking or possibly regular)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Measure sifted flour.

Sift again with baking soda and baking pwdr.

Set aside.

Cream butter, sugar, and brown sugar.

Add in egg and vanilla.

Beat till smooth.

Add in rolled oats and chocolate chips (and/or possibly other ingredients).
