Preheat oven to 400u00b0F. Dice the first and last slice of each apple. Drizzle apple with lemon juice and set aside. Grease and lightly flour a 15-1/2 x 10-1/2 inch jelly-roll pan.

Cream butter and sugar in large mixing bowl. Add vanilla extract and salt. Mix together flour, almonds and baking powder and add alternately with eggs to creamed mixture. Stir in diced apples.

Pour batter into the pan and arrange apple slices evenly on top. Bake for 50 mins. Halfway through baking, sprinkle tart with mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon.

Remove tart from oven and leave for 3 hours to cool. Cut into 20 squares. Whisk together powdered sugar and egg white and add as decoration.
