Christmas Cookies

   Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

   Thoroughly mix the softened butter with the sugar until it's creamy.

   Add the egg yolks one at a time, stirring constantly, as well as the lemon zest.

   Add the flour gradually until you get a smooth and soft dough, knead lightly.

   Let rest for 10 to 15 minutes.

   Roll out the dough on a floured surface, and cut out cookies.

   Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until lightly browned.

   When cool, decorate with powdered sugar.

   Fill with strawberry jam (optional).
