   Make 3 (1/2-inch) deep cuts into each frankfurter on a diagonal.

   Cut cheese slice into 36 strips , about 1 x 1/4-inch.

   Insert cheese into each cut.

   In an ungreased baking dish (11 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 1 1/2-inch) mix beans, tomato sauce and seasonings.

   Arrange frankfurters on bean mixture.
