   Cook rice and onion according to package directions for rice in a large stockpot.

   When rice is cooked add the remaining ingredients.

   Cook for 10 to 15 minutes, uncovered.

   May need to add more chicken broth or milk to soup as the rice will soak up the liquid as it is cooked.

   Serve hot.
