Ingredients: 1/2 tablespoon olive oil; 1/2 tablespoon butter; 2 large spanish onions thinly sliced or 2 large onions; 2 cloves garlic or to taste, thinly sliced; 1/4 teaspoon thyme dried; 1 pinch salt and black pepper prefer freshly ground pepper; 1 pinch sugar; 2 1/4 teaspoons white wine vinegar; 8 slices whole wheat bread or whole grain, butter one side; 1 x prepared mustard sweet, as needed; 24 ounces turkey cooked and sliced, 6 ounces per sandwich; 4 slices swiss cheese

1/2 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 tablespoon butter
2 large spanish onions thinly sliced or 2 large onions

2 1/4 teaspoons white wine vinegar
8 slices whole wheat bread or whole grain, butter one side
1 x prepared mustard sweet, as needed
24 ounces turkey cooked and sliced, 6 ounces per sandwich
4 slices swiss cheese

In a large nonstick pan or skillet, heat both oil and butter over medium-low heat.

Add onion slices, garlic, thyme, salt, pepper and sugar, cook and stir occasionally until onions are caramelized, 18 to 22 minutes.

Stir in white wine vinegar.

Spread unbuttered side of 4 of the slices with mustard.

Top with onion mixture and 6 ounces each turkey and swiss cheese.

Top with remaining bread, buttered side out.

Grill in skillet over medium heat, or in panini press, until browned and cheese is melted.
