Candied Baked Beans

   Preheat oven to 300F

   Pour beans into a large bowl.

   Add molasses and brown sugar.

   Mix well.

   Pour beans into a greased 13 x 9 baking dish.

   Lay raw bacon strips across top of beans to cover.

   Bake at 300F for 2 to 3 hours, or until bacon is dark and beans are tender, rich and thick.

   Note: Taste beans after 2 hours.

   Cooking too long will cause beans to become dry.

    Mine are usually done in 2-1/2 hours.

    I also use a good brand of bacon that is a bit more lean.

    The salty flavor of the bacon and rich sweetness of the beans is addicting!
