Combine 1/3 cup evaporated milk with the caramels in small saucepan, heat low to medium, stirring constantly to avoid burning or scorching, turn down to low heat to keep warm.

Combine dry cake mix with 2/3 cup of evaporated milk and nuts, stir by hand until dough holds together; press half of dough mixture in bottom of pan.

Bake at 350 F for 6 minutes.

remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over top, pour caramel mixture over chips.

Spread remaining cake mixture over top of caramel. Return to oven for 15 minutes.
