2 to 3 qt. stock or water

1 c. split peas
1 c. limas
1 grated carrot
1 diced potato
2 Tbsp. tamari or soy sauce

Combine the last 7 ingredients in a soup pot; boil 10 minutes. In the meantime, saute the first 5 ingredients until onion is clear.
