Dissolve yeast in water (lukewarm) with 1 tsp.

Cover with towel and let rise till double in bulk.

Divide dough into 6 parts.

Braid and let cold for 1/2 hour.

Brush with egg yolk.

Sprinkle with poppy seeds.

Bake at 425 degrees for 15 min.

Lower oven to 375 degrees till finished.

Let cold on baking rack - or possibly turn on its side to cold.
