Preheat the oven to 350u00b0F. Grease a 10 inch loaf pan. Beat the eggs, 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup butter for about 3 mins. Mix in the mashed banana then fold in the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and a pinch of salt, alternating with the milk. Mix in 1 cup + 2 tbsp nuts, transfer to the prepared pan and bake for 1 1/4 hours, covering with foil after 30 mins to prevent from burning. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 20 mins in the pan before removing and cooling on a wire rack.

For the toffee sauce, caramelize the remaining sugar in a pan then stir in the rest of the butter followed by the cream. Cook for 15 mins until thick. Allow to cool for 15 mins. If the toffee is too thick, re-heat and add more cream to thin. Pour the toffee over the cake and decorate with the remaining nuts. Allow to set before serving.
