Vidalia Onion Pie

   Cut two medium-sized vidalia onions in half and then cut into strips. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat, add onions and saute. Do not let them brown; cook until the onions are translucent. Take off heat and add sour cream and salt. Set aside.

   In a medium bowl, beat one egg and add cornbread mix, milk and creamed corn. Mix until combined. Pour into a greased 9x13 pan. Spoon onion mixture evenly over the cornbread mixture. Top with cheese and bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes, or until cheese is lightly browned and bubbly. Cut into squares.
