in a shallow pan heat olive oil and add chili's, garlic and onion and fry till translucent (see-through) and tender.

add only the basil and mix well for about 30 seconds. then add remaining ingredients and simmer till it becomes syrupy in consistency and sugar has completely dissolved.

turn off heat and press through a seive.

add the pasley to the marinade and wait until completely cool before mixing with prawns and setting aside for 10-15 mins.

heat a gridle pan and brush the vegetables with oil and salt. make sure the pan is very hot before grilling them- takes about 1-2 mins on either side of vegetable. set them aside and start cooking your prawns the same way. 35-50 seconds on each side-- they should be firm, pink and moist. toss the veg and prawns together and add any remaining marinade over it. a good squeeze of lemon juice- and your ready to serve!
