Wash peppers and cut off the tops. Clean out the centers.

Cook for 2 minutes on High in a covered 2-quart casserole with the 1/4 cup water in the microwave.

Drain water and put peppers aside.

To lose most of the fat from the hamburger, place a plastic colander inside a microwaveproof pie plate or dinner plate and brown hamburger in the colander on High power for 2 minutes in the microwave.

The fat wil drop through the holes into the pie pan.

After 2 minutes, rearrange the meat with a fork to brown evenly.

Continue with 2 minutes of cooking until all the hamburger is browned.
