Strawberry Jello Salad

   Cook pineapple and sugar together over medium heat until thickened, stirring often.

   Cool.

   Place cream cheese in a medium sized bowl.

   Stir a bit of the cooled pineapple mixture into the softened cream cheese a little bit at a time until it is all incorporated.

   Place jello in a large bowl and add boiling water and stir to disolve.

   Add pineapple/cream cheese mixture and mix well.

   Let cool -- but not set up.

   Fold in whipped cream and nuts.

   Chill until set.
