Stove-Top Baked Apples

   core apples. place in a medium saucepan.

   add water.

   pour half of sugar into center of each apple.

   dab with butter.

   sprinkle with cinnamon.

   cook covered over medium heat.

   bring to a boil.

   reduce heat and simmer until tender, about 20 minutes.
