1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 1/2 c. dried currants
1 3/4 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, well beaten
1 Tbsp. caraway seed

Line the buttered skillet with a circle of waxed paper. Melt 2 more tablespoons butter and set aside.
