Wait for yeast to proof, about 5-10 minutes. You'll know it's ready when some foamy stuff floats to the top of the water. If nothing floats up, then your yeast might be expired (dead), be sure to keep opened yeast jars in the fridge so they keep for longer.
Add the other 1/2 cup warm water to the bowl
Add 1 cup of the bread flour
Add 1/3 teaspoon salt
Add 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
Mix together with wooden spoon

For me it usually takes between 2 cups to 2.5 cups of flour to get to the right consistency, but it might be different for you depending on ambient temperature and humidity. Just get it to the point where it's still slightly tacky but not too sticky that it's getting stuck to the counter as you're kneading.
