1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vinegar

Cream together sugar and margarine until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time; beat well.

Add red food coloring and vanilla.

Add cake flour with the 2 teaspoons of cocoa alternately with the buttermilk.

Add the baking soda to the vinegar and add immediately to the cake batter.

Beat well. Pour into two 9-inch layer (round) pans and bake at 350u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
