3/4 c. butter
2 c. flour
1 egg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. soda
4 Tbsp. molasses
2 tsp. cinnamon

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and beat well. Add molasses to which you have added the soda. Mix cloves, ginger and cinnamon with flour. Add dry ingredients a little at a time to the sugar mixture. Mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350u00b0 for 10 minutes.
