Oatmeal Cake

   Pour boiling water over the oatmeal and soda.

   Stir and let set until cool.

   Cream together Crisco, brown sugar, white sugar and eggs.

   After this is creamed, add oatmeal mixture.

   Then add flour, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.

   Last of all, stir in chopped nuts.

   Bake 40 to 50 minutes at 350u00b0.

   Cool cake.
