Preheat oven to 350 F and butter an 8x8 or 9x9 inch glass baking dish.

Spread oats, sunflower seeds and almonds on a cookie sheet to toast in oven for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Combine honey, brown sugar, butter or margarine, vanilla or almond extract and salt in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

Cook until brown sugar has dissolved.

When oat mixture is done, remove form oven and reduce heat to 300F Add oat mixture to liquid mixture, add flax meal and dried fruit and stir to combine.

Put mixture in the buttered baking dish and press to evenly distribute.

Bake for 25 minutes.

Remove from oven and allow to cool before cutting into squares.

Store in airtight container for 1 week.
