Dissolve yeast in water. Heat milk and butter to scalding point. Remove from heat and let cool. Beat eggs slightly and add to yeast. Add milk and mix well. Combine 5 cups of flour and the sugar in a bowl. Pour in milk mixture and stir until blended. Dough will be sticky. Pour onto a floured surface and knead 10 minutes. Add flour as needed. Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning the dough to cover with the grease. Cover and let dough rise until it is doubled in size. Turn dough out and divide into 3 balls. Either braid or lay on a cookie sheet or place each in a bread pan. Let rise for 1 hour. Bake at 350u00b0 for 35 to 45 minutes. Makes 3 loaves.
