Ingredients: 3 -4 large onions; 100 g tomato paste; 800 g crushed tomatoes; 2 bay leaves; 3 -4 garlic cloves; olive oil; salt and pepper; 1600 -2400 g water; 1 cup barley; ½ cup rolled oats

Sautee onions in a bit of olive oil until brown.

Add in bay leaves, garlic, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, barely, rolled oats and water (just fill up the crushed tomato can with water 2-3 times and add to soup now and/or during cooking).

Stir while bringing all to a boil.
