1
I have not mastered separating cabbage leaves, so I will not instruct how to do so.
-
2
But remove 8 cabbage leaves and boil them or boil them and then remove them.
-
3
Cook the carrots, green pepper and onion until carrots are slightly soft.
-
4
In separate bowl, mix together the hamburger and the sausage, the cooked veggies, egg, rice, and pasta.
-
5
Mix together like a meatloaf.
-
6
Add all seasonings (did not add measurements to seasonings because it is all to taste).
-
7
Once the mixture is mixed add them to the cabbage leaves.
-
8
Roll the cabbage leaves around the filling and lay the rolls down with the open side down.
-
9
I did 2 layers on top of the other in a casserole dish.
-
10
Add 1/4 cup of water to dish and cover tightly.
-
11
Put in oven at 350F for about 45 minutes to an hour.
-
12
Check to make sure mixture is cooked.
-
13
Remove rolls from pan and either serve plain like this or serve with some sauce on top of it~*~HINT~*~ After I was all done making the rolls I had a considerable amount of stuff left so I sliced up the rest of the cabbage finely and laid it at the bottom of a casserole dish.
-
14
I added a touch of water to the cabbage, maybe 2 tablespoons.
-
15
I then spread out the hamburger mixture on top and I covered it and baked it on 350F for about an hour while we ate the rolls.
-
16
I then let it cool slightly and froze it.
-
17
When I was ready to eat it, I removed it from the freezer, thawed it a little and cooked it in the microwave until warm/hot.
-
18
Then I added sauce to the top and served it for supper.
