1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. molasses (Picket's)
4 c. flour, sifted
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves

Thoroughly cream together shortening and sugar.

Add egg and mix well; stir in molasses.

Roll dough into balls 1-inch in diameter; roll in sugar.
