Mock Cherry Pie

   Cook first 4 ingredients about 10 minutes.

   Thicken mixture with cornstarch, dissolved in a little water.

   Then add vanilla. Pour filling into a pastry lined pan.

   Cover top with pastry and crimp edges.

   Cut large circle in top about 2-inches for steam to escape.

   Bake at 450u00b0 for 10 minutes and 350u00b0 for 40 minutes. Cover top with foil when half baked to prevent pie from becoming too brown.
