½ cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon instant coffee granules

¼ cup half-and-half
2 egg yolks, large
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon Kahlua
2 tablespoons dark chocolate shavings

Bring milk to a boil on medium.

Combine sugar, cornstarch, coffee and salt in a large bowl.

Combine half and half and egg yolks and stir into sugar mixture whisking constantly then into the milk and simmer 1 minute or until thick, whisking constatnly.

Remove from heat and stir in butter and Kahlua.

Pour into a bowl in a larger ice filled bowl for 15 minutes until cool, stirring occasionally.

Cover the surface with plastic wrap and chill.

Serve with dark chocolate shavings on top.
