Michigan Maple Pecan Squares

   preheat oven to 375.

   combine sugar and flour in a large bowl and cut in butter until it coarse crumbs form.

   press crust into an 8x8 or 9x9 greased pan and bake 15 minutes.

   turn oven to 350.

   combine dry ingredients (except pecans) in a large bowl.

   in a separate bowl blend wet ingredients and add to dry ingredients.

   fold in pecans.

   pour over crust and bake 25 minutes.
