1 cup plain breadcrumbs
1 medium onion, chopped
1 large egg
1 ½ teaspoons salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
15 ounces tomato sauce, divided
½ cup water
3 tablespoons vinegar
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons mustard
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 dash Tabasco sauce
onion (optional)
carrot (optional)

Mix together ground chuck, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, salt, pepper and 4 oz.

In a separate bowl, mix together the rest of the tomato sauce, water, vinegar, brown sugar, mustard, worcestershire, and tabasco.

Place loaf in a shallow baking pan and arrange peeled onions and carrots around loaf.
