Heat an oiled grill pan on high heat. Combine lamb, spices and 1 tbsp of the oil in a medium bowl. Season. Let stand for 10 mins.

Rub eggplant with remaining 1 tbsp oil. Cook in grill pan until charred on both sides. Remove from heat. Cook lamb for 5 mins each side, or until cooked to desired doneness. Remove from heat. Let stand, loosely covered with foil, for 10 mins. Slice thinly.

Preheat the broiler to high. Place pitas on an oiled baking pan. Broil one side only until browned lightly. Remove from broiler, leaving broiler on. Spread untoasted side of pitas with sauce. Sprinkle with cheese and top with eggplant. Broil for 5 mins, or until cheese is melted and eggplant is heated through.

Combine hummus and creme fraiche in a small bowl. Top pizzas with lamb, hummus mixture, onion and cilantro.
