1 carrot, sliced

1 bay leaf
1 clove
1/2 c. scalded milk
1/2 c. scalded cream
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper

Boil the water in a saucepan.

Add potatoes, carrot, onions, thyme, bay leaf and clove.

Cover over low heat for 45 minutes. Force the mixture through a sieve.
