   Preheat oven to 350u00b0.

   Wash spareribs.

   Place ribs in bottom part of broiler pan, fat side up.

   Pour water around ribs. Sprinkle ribs with oregano.

   Cover with aluminum foil and seal tightly.

   Bake for 1 hour or until tender.

   Remove ribs from pan and place on broiler rack; put rack on bottom part of pan.

   Brush ribs with favorite barbecue sauce and place pan of ribs, uncovered, back into oven for 30 more minutes.

   Baste with barbecue sauce occasionally.
