1 1/2 pound grnd beef
1 teaspoon salt
1 sm. onion, sliced
1 med. apple, pared, cored and minced
1/2 c. minced celery
1 med. carrot, grated
3 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. warm water
1 c. mushrooms (optional)
