1 lb. beef bones
3 c. beef stock
3 c. water
3/4 c. chopped parsley
3 bay leaves
1 tsp. dried thyme
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. pearl barley
8 small peeled white onions
3 sliced carrots
8 oz. sliced mushrooms

Cut beef into 1/2-inch cubes.

Heat oil in Dutch oven until hot.

Cook and stir beef in oil until beef is browned.
