Ingredients: 6 cup beef broth..see my recipe for that; 6 cup water; 28 oz can tomatoes..mashed; 10 oz can..tomatoe soup; 2 cup shredded carrot; 2 cup shredded potato; 1 1/2 cup chopped onion; 1 cup chopped celery; 1/2 cup pearl or pot barley; 1 tbsp parsley flakes; 1 tsp sugar; 1 tsp salt; 1/4 tsp pepper; 1/4 tsp thyme; 2 lb lean ground beef

Servings: persons

6 cup beef broth..see my recipe for that
6 cup water
28 oz can tomatoes..mashed
10 oz can..tomatoe soup
2 cup shredded carrot
2 cup shredded potato
1 1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup pearl or pot barley
1 tbsp parsley flakes
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp thyme
2 lb lean ground beef

place all ingredients except hamburger in large pot

bring to boil

cover and simmer slowly for 1 hour

while soup is simmering scramble fry ground beef

add beef to soup after 1st hour

bring back to simmer.

continue for 1/2 hour

part ground beef and part chopped roast beef can be used.
