Mix dry ingredients in large bowl, set aside. Mix liquid ingredients in small bowl, and then add to dry and blend. The mixture will be quite thick, very normal. Pour into a 9x13 cake pan which has been greased and dusted with butter or margarine and flour make sure it is evenly spread. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 f for 30-35 minutes. Let cool slightly then add syrup.

Mix ingredients in medium sauce pan, cook on high to medium high stove-let boil for 5 minutes,or until it looks slightly brown. When ready, take a tablespoon or just a large spoon and slowly pour one at a time over the slightly cooled greek cake (the cake will soak it up like a sponge does to water) till the top looks good and wet. Then pour some more of the syrup directly from the pan over the cake and let it sink into the cake. You may have to do this twice-until all the syrup is soaked up.
