German Christmas Cookies: Butter Plaetzchen

   Bring the butter to room temperature or microwave on low to soften.

   Add the ingredients in the listed order while mixing.

   Roll out the dough with a rolling pin until 2-3 mm thick while dusting with flour.

   Cut out shapes with cookie cutters and place on a baking sheet.

   Mix the ingredients and brush on each cookie with a brush or a spoon.

   Bake in the preheated oven at 170C / 340F (Umluft 150C) until nicely browned.
