Fluffy and Soft Beef Bowl

   Slice the onion into 5mm wedges.

   Heat a little vegetable oil in a pan, and fry the beef.

   When the meat is still red, add the sugar, mix, and cook for 30 seconds.

   Add the onion and fry for about 30 seconds.

   Add the ingredients and mix into the meat and onions.

   Add the dashi stock and simmer for about 5 minutes until it's done (skim off the surface scum).

   Stop the heat and let sit a little for the flavors to penetrate the meat.

   If you wish, add beni shoga (red pickled ginger) or shichimi (7 season spice) on top.
