7 celery stalks
5 med. carrots

1 quart. tomatoes
3 tbsp. long grain rice or possibly 3 tbsp. barley
3 quarts. water
2 tbsp. salt
1 teaspoon pepper
2 beef bouillon cubes

Approximately 4 hrs before serving, cut up vegetables and brown hamburger in a kettle.

Drain off fat.

Add in 1/2 onions to meat with 3 qts of water.

Cover and simmer about 2 hrs.

Add in remaining ingredients and simmer for 2 hrs.
