Here you go!
-
2
That's all it takes to make these.
-
3
Now, let's prep the sauce.
-
4
Combine all of the ingredients except for the sesame oil, divide into individual serving saucers, then drizzle in the sesame oil.
-
5
Here is the Korean red chili pepper.

-
7
Peel the potatoes and grate without soaking in water.
-
8
Grate them into a sieve, then press down on the grated potatoes.
-
9
The more you press, the firmer the final pancake will be.
-
10
Don't throw away the liquid!
-
11
So that it doesn't get discolored, let's add a few drops of vinegar and a pinch of salt to the grated potatoes, and mix.
-
12
Transfer the liquid to a cup.
-
13
If you let it sit a while, starch will settle at the bottom.
-
14
Pour off the liquid, then add the white stuff settled at the bottom to the bowl of grated potatoes.
-
15
Mix, mix, and mix some more.
-
16
This is pure katakuriko.
-
17
Chop up plenty of green onions, then mix into the bowl.
-
18
Cut the spring onions into long segments, and fry them in the batter.
-
19
Add carrots and onions to your liking.
-
20
Okay.
-
21
Next, pour sesame oil (a little more than usual) into a frying pan.
-
22
Before frying, fire up the frying pan, then heat the sesame oil!
-
23
Fry on medium without a lid.
-
24
After both sides are grilled and it's giving off a nice smell, it's done!
-
25
Be sure to dip it in the sauce.
-
26
It's also tasty with some squid added.
-
27
But first try it this way--classic gamjajeon.
-
28
