1/2 head cabbage, sliced
1/2 small onion, sliced
1/4 c. water
1 stalk celery
1 grated carrot
2 Tbsp. bacon fryings
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 c. milk
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. cornstarch

Cook first 5 ingredients until tender. When vegetables are tender, add bacon fryings and salt and pepper.
